Updating ms access database vb 2016

moves the data from the live database to a backup database, thus preventing the database from getting too large. I came across this error when I was trying to update data in a local Access table by using the matching data in a linked table in Oracle.I haven't witnessed this happening first hand, I can only take the user's word.I'm just wondering if it could be an MS Access issue when stored on a server .... You may consider adding some logging option that logs key info each time a save is done including the Record ID or Primary Key info and if it is a new record or an edit and then have them send you the logs from each user once they have reproduced the problem.I have a batch file that backups the database and runs a compact and repair, that is ran on a daily basis.

No connection errors when loading, adding or modifying data.

Provided that you do not have any on error resume next statements if there which would allow the code to continue without notifying of an error then I would think you would know about connection issues.

I have in the past written several apps that are multi user with an Access backend where the db is on a network share and have never saw this type of issue.

The MS Access database is located on a server and the VB6 application accesses the data using ADOBC Microsoft. In this particular case, the data is added and updated via a MSHFlexgrid (using a textbox and combo box).

It is a multi-user environment, with about 6 users potentially updating the same tables at a time. The VB6 file is located on the server with a shortcut to this file is saved on each of the user's desktops.
